Why the two together beat either alone
A liquidity sweep on its own is only half a story - price often sweeps a level and simply keeps going. A change of character on its own can be a fakeout inside chop. Stacked in the right order, they cover each other's weakness: the sweep gives you the reason (liquidity taken), and the CHOCH gives you the proof (structure has turned).
The exact sequence
For a bullish setup: price sweeps a low, closes back above it, then breaks the most recent minor high (CHOCH up). You enter on the retest of the order block or gap that displacement left behind, with the stop below the sweep wick and the target at the opposite liquidity.
The bearish version is the mirror: sweep a high, close back below, break the last minor low, enter on the retest.
When to stay out
The setup is only valid in order. If the sweep happens but no CHOCH follows, do nothing - price is likely still collecting liquidity and may run deeper. If you see a CHOCH with no preceding sweep, you are probably reading noise inside a range. And if the sweep candle closes beyond the level instead of back inside, that is a breakout, not a sweep - the whole premise is gone.

What is a CHOCH after a liquidity sweep?
A change of character (CHOCH) is when price breaks the most recent minor swing in the opposite direction after a sweep. It is the first structural signal that the move which took the liquidity is now reversing.
What is the difference between CHOCH and BOS?
A CHOCH is the first break against the current trend - it signals a possible reversal. A BOS (break of structure) is a break in the direction of the trend - it signals continuation. After a sweep, you usually want a CHOCH.
Where do I enter on a sweep + CHOCH setup?
After the CHOCH, wait for price to retest the order block or fair value gap left by the displacement, and enter there - not on the CHOCH candle itself. Stop goes beyond the sweep wick.
What if there is a sweep but no CHOCH?
Stay out. A sweep with no structure shift often means price is still gathering liquidity and may run further. The setup only becomes valid once the CHOCH confirms the turn.
